Scholarship?

      Now concluding our 7th cycle, the scholarship envisioned by the leadership of the University of Montana BHA, has already had an impact far beyond what we could have ever imagined.   In that first year, just months after Rebecca's death, Donna, Selena, and I scrambled to assemble art consisting of some fused glass plates Donna had made, watercolor paintings Selena quickly sketched and painted, and glass beads I had made previously.  We posted our work on Facebook and through sales and some small donations, were able to fund one of three scholarships given out that first year.  Since then, we have been able to provide enough funding to support three out the four scholarships awarded each year since.  Last year, we were fortunate enough to have several friends of ours donate some of their own artwork to help us in this endeavor.  

      However, we have known from the beginning that we had to create some type of structure that would allow this program to continue far beyond the time when we are no longer able to physically create the art we currently sell in order to support the awards offered each year.  And even setting aside money to extend the life of this program, we know we need somehow ensure that this program truly continues on far beyond our own lives.
